Sitting and sketching a new build of a holiday home on a concrete slab. How do you handle exterior doors, place them on the sill or open the sill and place the door on the slab (with sill insulation underneath)? What is customary? Pros and cons?
It depends among other things on how the floor over the concrete will look. A door threshold shouldn't be too high.
There will be parquet flooring. Water-based underfloor heating. So the door on the slab then?
If you are going to have a floating parquet floor with only a thin layer against the concrete, you cannot have a thick sill under the door.
