Hello!
We are planning to build an extension where we want it open to the ridge and are thinking of using glulam beams and a vaulted ceiling.
What we are wondering is if it is possible to size up the long glulam beam so that the short glulam beam can be attached to the long one, thereby also keeping it open to the ridge in the small angle that will be created.

Or any other good suggestion that allows us to have it open to the ridge throughout the building. This is in snow zone 2, and we were thinking of using 220 studs for the purlins.

Attached is a sketch of how we have roughly planned it.

Best regards, Martin

I think you will have to place a standing glulam where the horizontal ones meet, unfortunately. Contact the roof truss seller, you will anyway need building permit drawings for the load capacity.
