Hello!
I am planning to extend my vacation home (originally built in 1973) to create a larger space for bathing, showering, and laundry, essentially a wet area. The new wet area will be outside the old facade, and after the extension, the old exterior wall will become an interior wall in the new wet area.
My question is as follows: Can I use the old exterior wall construction as an interior wall as it is, or do I need to rebuild it? The old exterior wall is structured as follows from the outside in: 1. Standing wood panel. 2. Windproof paper. 3. Standing studs + insulation (95 mm). 4. Windproof paper on the inside. 5. Chipboard. 6. Surface covering/wallpaper.
What I'm concerned about is whether there is a risk of condensation in the wall due to the windproof paper remaining. Is there anything else important I should consider?
