Hello!
We need to build inward on the gables of our unfinished attic. Today, the studs are at the same level as the window, and we need to build out about 13-15 cm to achieve the desired wall thickness.
Is it most suitable to first install horizontal studs at cc60 and then finish with vertical studs at the same cc60? It's worth noting that one gable will have a bathroom, so there will probably be tiles there.
If this is OK, then a strong wood screw at each "crossing" stud should be sufficient, right? (straight through)?
Will this "cross construction" be sufficiently stable? (yes, there will be sparse paneling and drywall on top of that, of course...)
