I have an old lock board ceiling that needs to be redone. According to t-emballage, the advice is to lay battens on the lock boards. Then put a breathable membrane over it and then bearers.
Now I'm considering extending the roof overhang a bit due to additional wall insulation. Instead of laying battens, I thought about going up a size to perhaps 45x45 battens and letting these extend 15 cm beyond the existing roof edge at the eaves. Cc 60 or cc 30 or whatever is required? Laying 70x45s would also work to make it even stronger...
The question is what is required? The roof pitch varies, but in the worst case, it's only 20 degrees (I assume it's worse the flatter it is due to snow load).
