Glulam 42x180. Pressure-treated wood is not used when the timber is weather-protected.
So there's no problem using the posts in structural timber (95x95) even though they are supposed to support the entire roof and parts of the floor structure? I could have replaced them with laminated timber, but it's hard to find posts in laminated timber that are impregnated.J justusandersson said:

It's mostly a formal objection as they are not strength graded. You have to try to estimate their strength class. If they are reasonably straight-grained and knot-free, it should not be a problem. It should be clear what timber sorting they belong to. That also provides guidance.V Villa1949 said:
Yes, I haven't found any marking, but I also don't have a good idea for other materials for the post, so I hope it will hold. I'd like it to be pressure-treated since it's so close to the ground in the base. The pressure-treated laminated timber I found at a reasonable price was 3 meters, which is too short. Plus, they're already in place, so I don't want to replace them unless necessary.
Anyway, I built a prototype of the extension today, where the bearer comes up about 17 cm, which feels okay. I think I'll stick with that. I hope it will be stable. The horizontal bearer will be in laminated timber and will replace the horizontal beam in the photos.

Found this picture from Martinsson.se, would it have made sense to use such a board piece to stabilize the construction and make it stronger on the front and back, maybe of 34x95? How far up and down should it go in that case?
Thinking it might be a good alternative to brackets, which still makes the construction strong, or is it unnecessary? I thought the beveled short sides looked good.

If anyone is wondering, I eventually replaced the posts with impregnated laminated wood 90x90, which I let dry for a couple of months in the basement before I painted and then mounted them.
Had to remove some decking, otherwise, it went okay. Except for the post by the stairs, which was tricky and took a long time since everything was interconnected.
Thanks for all the tips.
However, I didn't dare to cut them before mounting them, so that's still left before I put up the main beam.
