Excessive with pressure-treated wood?
Hello,
Has there been an inflation in using pressure-treated wood in all constructions? Regular wood that is painted also has quite good resistance, right? For example, I see people building grill benches or similar things and insist on using treated wood. Shouldn't regular painted wood be enough here? Is it just laziness or convenience? How is the environment affected?

If exposed to the elements, paint can make it worse. So painted wood is not generally a good solution.
My personal opinion is the ease of not having to paint, and that the gray appearance is and has been trendy, if you will. But painting works just fine, just more maintenance😉B Björn—72 said:Hello,

Choose timber carefully at the lumberyard.
It doesn't matter much if you choose pressure-treated or not with today's pressure-treated wood.
Straight, slow-grown without knots, maintain with oil or tar etc.
Feel free to put plastic feet on tables, chairs, etc.
Put it away in the fall and let it stand in a well-ventilated area without sunlight on it.
The sun's rays affect the wood and shorten its lifespan, where paint helps, but it peels and retains moisture instead.
