Can't you even remove cord clips? You should be allowed to replace electrical outlets and switches yourself, so shouldn't you be able to just detach them from the wall? Just curious

I'll simply have to ask the electrician and see what the best solution is!

No, not to dismantle the electrical installation. (One possibility is for the electrician to disconnect the cables and then you can tear it down.)
