Hello!
I submitted an application for the construction of a 30 sqm Attefall house to the municipality. I was approved to start construction, but one of the requirements is that the constructions are carried out in accordance with ESK 11. It is a carpenter who will build it. I read about it online. Is the execution according to ESK 11 known by all carpenters, or does it need to be specified in the contract?
Hi!
I submitted an application for a 30 sqm Attefall new construction to the municipality. I got approved to start construction, but conditions include that constructions are carried out in accordance with ESK 11. It's a carpenter who's going to build it. I read about it online. Is the execution in accordance with ESK 11 familiar to all carpenters, or does it need to be stated in the contract?
Thanks in advance
EKS (European construction standard) must be followed. In practice, this means that suppliers of materials (roof trusses, etc.), constructions, etc. must follow it to be approved. In your case, it's not a problem; basically everything you purchase meets it. But, for example, whoever calculated the roof trusses must have used it.
Give the carpenter a copy of the start notice so they know what applies, link the contract to the building permit (natural to do so). Then more details than that are needed in the contract, but that's another thing.
