Bought Z-panel this spring at jem and fix. They charged 14:-/meter then.
Byggmax charged 25.
Went down last week to order another pallet. Then jem and fix charged 25:- per meter but Byggmax 18:-.

It's important to shop around.

How long do you think the higher prices will last? I see that byggmax is charging 26.95 for a regular 45x70 today...

Of course, prices follow down. The sawmills have to produce to survive. So if demand decreases, they have to compete with the price.
The building supplies stores' purchase prices will go down, yes. But when consumers have gotten used to a higher price, the building supplies stores may take the opportunity to increase their margins a bit.

There are many places with more than one building supply store and customers are price-conscious. So I don't think they can maintain the margins very much.

Suppliers predict that this will last up to 18 months.

Aren't there negotiations regarding purchase prices periodically, and maybe at the next negotiation prices might drop somewhat for us consumers. If you look at the market price that has dropped significantly since the peak, an adjustment should be in order. Downwards. I hope.

I have noticed at 3 builders merchants in my area how the stocks of treated wood are well stocked. Are people still building decks, or is it the opposite?
When a deck has become twice as expensive as last year, people start to hesitate. Not everyone can afford to put up a 100sqm deck.

Not fun to see those prices on OSB boards :worried:. I'm just about to buy OSB for my Attefall house
many construction companies replace osb with 12mm chipboard to cope with the pricing.

1 year, or as long as the market still runs at the same pace.

I chose 12mm k-ply instead. It was 15kr/m2 cheaper to my surprise (y) Still expensive though.

Americans like Osb and not plyfa hence the pricing

It's a better choice. So when the difference is small, I would choose plywood even if it was slightly more expensive.

No image but received a quote for a glulam beam 90x225 l=12m at 12000 PLUS VAT with delivery within 3 weeks. If I could wait 8 weeks, I would get it for about 3000 including instead. Martinsons apparently isn't even taking orders for glulam right now from what I've heard from my salesperson at K-Bygg.

Well, having a deck is more important in these times regardless of what it costs.

Checked the ad leaflet from Byggmax summer 2019.
OSB board then 148:- today 349:-
Panel 120mm then 11.85 today 22.95
Stud 45*95 then 15.95 today 34.95
The prices have doubled.
