Time to renovate the bedroom

The room is 290x400cm
Window on one short side with a radiator under the window

During renovation, we plan to close the existing window and install a new elongated window above the headboard.
The wall is intended to be covered with horizontal paneling as a feature wall.

Then to the question: should the radiator be moved to one of the long walls that is an exterior wall? Not so nice...

Or can the radiator be built behind the horizontal paneling, placing about 3-4 mm gaps between the panels to allow the heat to escape?

However, the radiator will end up behind the continental bed's headboard.

For the element to function well, it should be as free as possible around it. Placing a panel in front of the element is not a good idea. It will drastically reduce how much heat it releases. If you want to avoid the element, you might consider underfloor heating, but do not enclose the element.

I unfortunately believe that the airflow around the element is too small to achieve any higher heat emission. It is common to avoid furniture in front of radiators to allow the heat to be emitted efficiently. So underfloor heating, as the previous speaker recommends, sounds like a good alternative.

Or look for a designed radiator that can become a focal point in the room.

Watch out!
You've just fallen for one of the simplest tricks in furniture catalogs and home stylists.

Consider how practical it is to pull the blind up and down
above the bed when you want darkness/daylight in the bedroom :p

Think about how practical it is to pull the roller blind up and down
above the bed when you want sleeping darkness/daylight in the bedroom :p
Not to mention, it becomes even more troublesome when the window needs cleaning since you also have to move a large heavy bed.

Then it will not be built in. Floor heating is not an option as it is an uninsulated slab on the ground.

Regarding window cleaning, it will be the wife's problem 😀 But moving the bed is overkill, you can stand on the bed :)

And you don't mind that she spills wash water on your side of the bed?

The window ajar to let in some fresh air. A draft directly into the sheets :p

Look outside to see what the weather is like: Sorry darling, that I put my knee on your ear :o

PS
Oh my god, what morbid fantasy images we conjure up :)

Haha yes but she'll be the one changing the bed linens 😀
Additionally, the window faces a glassed-in patio so it's good to avoid direct visibility into the bedroom from outside :-)

Need to look at design radiators 400v

If there is a regular roof on the glass-enclosed porch, less light will come through a window facing it than through a window facing the open sky, just so you aren't disappointed that the room becomes darker and may feel a bit like a windowless room.

Keep in mind that windows are an important escape route in the event of a fire.

Corrugated plastic roof
We have chosen light wallpaper and carpet to compensate for less light entry, and regarding evacuation, we have a door between the bedroom and the utility entrance :-)

Do you have two doors out of the bedroom?

Ja
