I am going to set up the ELFA shelf system in my newly purchased Älvsbyhus. Thus, 10 mm chipboard in the walls.
How would you do it?
I previously had the system in an apartment with concrete walls and with anchors and sturdy screws, it was solid. Now I'm wondering about the 10 mm chipboard. Will regular anchors hold?
I have no idea where the stud is, and the hanging rail itself has to be up near the ceiling, so it's not even certain the stud is in the right place.
Any tips?

I would tap on the wall to find the stud and screw into it with a regular wood screw. The studs will be spaced evenly, find one and you'll find them all.
If a rail is going to run along the entire wall, you can also test drill through the particle board with a small 1mm drill bit to locate the studs if you're unsure.

You need to secure the support rail with metal expanders, like Molly. Since the rail holds the entire load, you shouldn't gamble with simpler fastenings. "Regular plugs" will compress radially down the wall and eventually lose their fastening ability.
