I have an undrained basement from '37 in a functionalist house. The foundation is some kind of block that looks like lightweight concrete/leca. The old plaster below ground level has fallen off in places - would like to replaster with something permeable.

When searching around, it's easy to find luxury products like Weber Dry Renovation - 400 SEK for 20kg. Looks great but what economical alternatives are there?

Might need to drain but have no plans other than a workshop/laundry room in the basement, so it's not urgent.

Grateful for tips and how people have done it at home!

Is there any reason why regular plaster b, plastered on plaster mesh is not an option?

I think it was quite uncommon to use plaster mesh in 1937, so if you chip away all the old plaster, attach the mesh, and otherwise plaster according to all the rules of the art, it should last for a few decades, as long as drainage/roof drainage is not a major problem that needs to be looked at.
