Currently setting up String shelves, two sections with three brackets. |-|-|

The middle bracket is attached to a wooden stud and the left and right brackets with molly in single drywall.

Somehow I managed to attach the bracket on the left 3-5 mm too far to the left, and I can't get the shelves in place without some force and tension on the bracket. This, of course, causes the bracket to bend and it looks terrible.

Moving a molly 4 mm is obviously not doable...

How would you solve the problem?

I would have moved everything about 2 cm in some direction (up, down, right, or left).

Yes, unfortunately you have to move everything. Or cut out the plaster and put in a new piece, with plyfa behind it. With enough plyfa behind, you can attach directly to it with wood screws, but it needs to be a solid piece. At the same time, the same piece can be used to reattach the plaster.

Downwards would be possible but it also means nine new holes in the wall.... Not really eager to spackle and paint the whole wall because of this....

Unfortunately, with String you have no alternative. The holes are where they are, there is no leeway at all.

What do you think about these, and can I manage to make 10mm holes partially in the hole with the old hole?

The risk is the plug might want to go in, but with the endpiece between, there's no risk...
Well... Better to remove a piece of drywall. Maybe 15x15 cm. Yes, you'll have to fill and repaint. Be glad it’s not wallpapered.

Considering how little there is on the inside of the plaster with a Molly, a larger piece of plywood isn't really needed.

should be possible if you remove the molly (break away the plate with a morakniv and push the rest of the molly into the wall) and carve away 4mm of plaster on the side you want to move it and then insert a new molly there.
