Currently building some interior walls to create children's rooms on the upper floor. Right now it's a large family room with a retrofitted chimney in a (as far as I know) minerit shaft. The installation was done in 1997, so asbestos boards are not an issue.

Is it okay to cover the shaft with gypsum?
Can/should you screw the gypsum directly onto the minerit board, or should you "frame" with something a bit thinner so it becomes airy?

you should never screw into a mineritrör for ventilation or other purposes...you should also set the same distance as to the wall with 30mm steel studs and screw into them...put a metal guard on the outer corner...

OK, how do I attach the steel studs to the shaft?

The shaft is constructed of "modules" placed on top of each other and contains an insulated steel pipe.

I also need to install an inspection hatch in the shaft (it was a point on my fire inspection) and for that, I could either buy a hatch or cut away a piece that could be quickly unscrewed according to the chimney sweep who was here.
