Are there any types of self-drilling screws that can be used to screw through perforated plates? I am going to install new, custom-built roof trusses, and if the angle brackets end up exactly where the truss plates are, there could be a problem otherwise...right? I am planning to use 2mm perforated plates in the trusses.
There are self-drilling mounting screws in various types that are guaranteed to penetrate sheet metal up to 2mm. There are also self-drilling wood screws in many variants, I don't know if these can also handle sheet metal, the easiest way is probably to ask at the nearest building/hardware store to get the right type.

In your case, when using a self-drilling screw on an angle bracket in a perforated metal plate, it leads to the perforated metal plate being the material that the thread bites into, and not the wood. This may not matter in this specific situation, but it's good to know. (Using a self-drilling screw intended for steel in wood isn't ideal because you drill away the material that the thread should grip into.)

Well, I just thought about it, it's not going to work well. I want the screw to attach to the wood. I have to try to fit the nail plates so that I have space for the angle bracket between them. It's not worth changing too much from what is on the drawing, it's calculated exactly as it should be, but maybe a few mm could work. Expensive with nailing plates, by the way...
Have a drill with you during the installation and pre-drill through the spikplåt, then use regular wood screws.
