Currently setting up decorative stone in the sauna. A sauna heater is going to be mounted against it, but is it possible to drill into the decorative stone? It looks like this:

It should be perfectly fine to drill into it. If you want to be really sure and get the finest possible hole, use a diamond core drill.

Does the decorative stone have to go down behind the unit?
I stopped my stone at the height of the unit. Sauna interior with a stone wall section ending at the height of a black heater, surrounded by wooden paneling.

Is it the electrical connection visible on the right side?

No! It's the emptying of the water tank, as I have a combination unit with a steam function.

Thanks, now I can stop shaking with worry.:)

Where can I find a diamond core drill?

Google diamond drill and you will probably find something. For example, Husqvarna manufactures them, I have a Husqvarna 7-8 mm something. It is probably about 50-60 mm long as well, no problem getting through tiles+fix, for example.

are they expensive?

Compared to a standard HSS drill set from Jula - Yes.
Compared to the alternatives and what you get for the money - No

:)

With such a drill, you get perfectly fine holes without the risk of cracks, etc., in the tiles.

Excuse an old man.

A "regular" drill + korromanborr in tiles works well, possibly in decorative stone likewise.

You also use diamond drills with a regular drill. The higher the speed, the better, in practice.
