Drill hole in concrete ceiling
I bought a new lamp from IKEA, it requires a permanent installation and needs to be drilled into the ceiling in the living room.
How deep can you drill? Isn't there a rule of thumb for that, to avoid damaging or hitting any wires or cable runs in the wall? Are there any special screws/expanders or is IKEA's "FIXA" pack with screws/plugs sufficient?

You need to drill deep enough so you can fit the plug with a little margin. When you have removed the cover for the electrical box in the ceiling, you can probably see which direction the wires go and thereby avoid drilling right there.
That's right, I can see which direction the cables are coming from once I remove that white box, so it should be easy to avoid.
Another question, the lamp only has an input for the brown and blue wire, not for the yellow-green (ground). In the ceiling, there are both blue/brown and ground wires.
The lamp has that square in square symbol, does that mean it doesn’t need to be grounded? If so, is it enough to just tape the ground wire from the ceiling and tuck it neatly inside the hole?
Thanks for the quick responses.

I tried to use the hook to hang the lamp but it didn't work.. I don't think you can hang it without drilling..
The double square symbol means that it is so-called double insulated and therefore should not be connected to protective ground (yellow-green).A Accenter said:Another question, the lamp only has an input for the brown and blue cable, not for the yellow-green (ground). Preferably, put a clamp, like a "ubåt" on the yellow-green, so you've done the installation correctly and properly. https://www.clasohlson.com/se/Kopplingsklämma/p/32-7795
