Hi :),

according to the K-drawing for the garage construction, I should have double trusses on each side of the dormer in the attic. The trusses will of course come from the factory and can then be assembled on site.

Just wondering how.
- Remove the nail plates on the inside and screw/glue them together?
- Leave the nail plates in place and fill the space between the double trusses with a 6mm plywood strip?
- Or do I not need to be that meticulous at all?

When it comes to the joint in the trusses, it's possible to place them so that they end up in the same place across the entire floor structure (Alternative B) or alternate every other truss (Alternative A). Does it matter at all?

I have used Bjekling's book (Takstolsboken) to calculate trusses. From what I understand, it is the number of nails, the right plates and right dimensions, and the quality of the timber that determine the strength of a truss of a given construction and span. It seems to me like a very bad idea to remove any of this in order to fasten the trusses tightly against each other.

Either you shim with something thin in between, but I actually believe mostly in option three. The function of these trusses is not dependent on any interaction between the roof trusses. Each carries half the load, clear.

If nothing else interferes or complicates, I would probably turn the roof trusses according to A.
It's probably completely unnecessary, but it would feel a bit good, in some way. :)

I haven't bought trusses from a factory, but I guess they are made in some form of jig. If you turn every other one, there's a risk that it won't be exactly symmetrical. I'm just theorizing here, but it often happens when you build the trusses yourself, for example, there might be a few mm off on one side compared to the other.
 
The trusses I bought for the extension had arrows drawn on them pointing horizontally to indicate that the trusses should be oriented the same way. Likely due to what pbengtsson says. Therefore, reversing the trusses so that the joints don't align could cause problems.

It's just a matter of nailing the chairs together on site as they are delivered. This can be done on the ground or on the ridge board and not in any particular way. But as mentioned, they should be nailed together with the joints in the same place.

You should definitely have all the trusses facing the same direction; during pressing in a jig, they can very well be asymmetrical by a few centimeters. If you turn one, the error doubles. Many manufacturers mark them, for example, with spray paint, so that you do not turn a truss the wrong way:/MLj
