Have built the construction and am in the process of laying the roof and have discovered small black spots on some beams on the lower floor. I assume it's due to exposure to moisture.
My question is
Should we:
A.) Replace these with other beams.
B.) Treat the beams in some way.
C.) Continue building and allow the wood to dry out properly.

A follow-up question:
If we were to continue building, could this affect the insulation when we eventually install it, even if we've allowed the wood to dry out properly?

Best regards,
David

That was a quick response; Jureit.
The answer was exactly what I wanted to hear. ;D
It would feel troublesome to have to replace the beams. Funny how one sometimes seeks answers that support one's hypothesis. I hope no one comes with a different answer. ;)

Thanks for the advice.
Is it enough to just spray on the ättiksprit or should one scrub hard?

Best regards,
David

I also had speckled timber and took a couple of rounds with the electric planer. Adios to those spots.

There are also special mold agents in the paint store. Used it on details in a boat that had been on land for a couple of years.
