Hello,

I am currently building a small shed and have 4 glulam posts (90x90) in the corners. I have screwed the carrying beams to the posts with 100 mm French wood screws. But when I screwed one in, it creaked loudly, almost like the post cracked, even though the screw went right in the middle of the post.

Does anyone know if the load-bearing capacity of the post is reduced if you screw in many screws? Let's say you put a total of 50 screws in a post of varying length and thickness...

if you insert coarse screws, you should pre-drill especially if you are near the end grain

Coarse screws are pre-screwed.
