Does the length of the fence pickets matter on a horizontal fence?

Hello! I am in the process of building a fence with horizontal slats. See the picture for the design.

- The posts are 70x70 mm
- Distance between posts about 180 cm
- The slats are 28x70 mm
- The fence will be a U shape with approximately 15+13+4 meters
- All post foundations with post shoes are cast and ready

Now, as I prepare to order wood and screws, I have a few questions:

1. What length should I choose for the slats? Does it matter if they cover 2, 3, or 4 posts, beyond the visual aspect?

2. What type of screw should I choose for the posts and the slats, and why? Should I pre-drill if I choose French wood screws for the posts?

3. Any tips to avoid beginner mistakes?

As long ribs as possible to reduce twisting. French screws will be perfect.
For the ribs, use regular decking screws, pre-drill at the ends to reduce cracking. And as always, at least 2 screws, preferably 3.

How did it go? What does it look like today? Suitable with 180cc and 28x70 slats? How tall and how many slats? A picture and height would be nice 😁
