Hello!

I am going to build a pergola and attach it to the façade, which is plastered concrete panels on a wooden frame with an air gap.

Normally, you would attach a beam along the façade, which is then used to attach the rafters. But I don't like how that looks on a white-plastered façade, so I want to use joist hangers, preferably internal ones, so they are as unobtrusive as possible. I plan to use 90x90 beams for the frame. This way, I also avoid wood against the façade.

How do I determine if the façade can support this when it gets windy or if a swing is hung on the pergola?
What fasteners should I use?

Does it feel excessive to consult an architect or structural engineer for this? I have a drawing of how the façade is constructed.

Thankful for a response,
Calle

What do you mean by polished cement boards? If you mean some form of fiber cement boards, I strongly advise against it.
