Planning to install a stove in a small outbuilding, it likely had one before but the chimney is no longer there. I'm thinking of a very simple construction with a pipe out through the wall and then straight up a bit above the roof. I guess there's some kind of cap for the pipe to prevent water from getting in. I've seen that, for example, K-rauta has enamel pipes that should work. Does anyone have any tips regarding the installation of this, is it as simple as it seems (excluding laws and regulations, there's a firefighter in the family so fire risks will be handled)?

The enamel pipes are for installation in the same room as the stove. A "homemade" pipe, at least a few years ago, had to be 3 mm in wall thickness for a stove, regardless of whether it was made of structural steel or corten, and 4 mm for a closed fireplace (boiler, for example). 3+3 cm fire blanket and at least 5 cm outside of that to the nearest combustible part. The more modern chimney modules are type-approved for using 0.6 - 1 mm in their insulated pipe modules, but in the end, the risk is that the chimney sweep's interpretation and mood on the day will affect the outcome. If there's also a zealous PBL bureaucrat with a need for self-assertion as the case handler at the municipality, it will cost..., if you want it inspected and haven't submitted the building notification, that is.
