Dear congregation,

The day before yesterday, I was persuaded by my dear woman to renovate another space in our house. During the demolition of one wall, which is the "old" exterior wall, I found a fantastic wall. But not only that. The old window is still there. Our initial plans were overturned. It would be fun to keep the wall and its window as it is and come up with something matching and rustic for the other three walls, the ceiling, and the floor.

Question. What do you think? How would you have done it?

In this room, there is also a geothermal heat pump and its donkeypanna. How could one nicely cover that part?

I hate exposed electrical cables. The idea is to use the ceiling for cable routing and then lead it down to each wall. I want to access behind the hardboard on the outer wall. I made a small peephole, and behind it, there is paper film. What material should I use there for moisture control? Or can I make life much easier by simply routing a groove for my flexible conduit?

I attach some pictures.

  • Renovation site showing exposed wall interior with visible plumbing and a geothermal heat pump system, showcasing copper pipes and a red expansion tank.
  • Old exposed wall with red paneling and a window discovered during renovation. Partially removed wallpaper shows layers beneath. White pipes overhead.
