We need to lift a fragile cabinet weighing 170 kg into an apartment. The only way to get it in is to lay it down on one long side. Unfortunately, the piece is so delicate that we need to distribute the entire weight of the cabinet over as large an area as possible and therefore cannot just have lifting straps at a few points. We thought of solving this by building a "stretcher" consisting of two joists and on top of these a plywood sheet that the side of the cabinet will rest against. The question now is, how thick should the plywood sheet be for this construction? And what dimensions should the two longitudinal joists have? See attached sketch! It would be fantastic to get some help with this so we don't over- or under-dimension it!
