I am going to build a simpler outdoor gym similar to the one in the picture below. The posts I will make from 70x70 lumber.

The question is which dimension I should choose for the lumber that will go between the posts. I made an arrow so you understand which part I mean.

The distance between the 70x70 posts will be 3.5 meters. So that's how long the beams need to be.

You should be able to hang from those posts. So they need to withstand some weight at least.

Should you use 70x70 posts there as well? Or 45x95 beams? Or what do you suggest?

Outdoor gym structure with wooden posts and a metal bar, red arrow pointing to the horizontal beam. Neatly placed on a grassy area near hedges.

If it is going to be 3.5 meters between the posts, you will get deflection if you use 70×70 or 45×95. I would suggest screwing and gluing 2 pcs of 45×145 instead, but it's not particularly nice. Otherwise, you have to go up to glued laminated timber 130×130mm, but there might be deflection there as well.
