Hi

I am planning to build an extension to a deck with dimensions 3*3.6 meters, 100 cm above ground, and I want it cast in concrete.

The deck is not intended to be bolted to the house, just standing close (about 1mm). Can someone provide advice on how to dimension the thickness of the deck against the span between the pillars?

I would prefer to have only 10 cm of concrete and a span of 1.5 meters between the pillars, is that sufficient? One could consider having 20 cm thick concrete at the edge of the deck and then making it thinner in the middle, etc...

(I have posted a similar question under Deck and Patio)

Best regards

No problem to size.
With such a small plate, it should be easy to just have 4 pillars.
Optimal placement in terms of strength is usually at the quintile points.
But let someone who knows construction help you.
