Hello!
We are building an alternative masonry stove in Portugal. We are constructing a shell into which we will insert metal smoke pipes. We intend to fill the gap between the stove wall and the pipes with sand. We need to seal some joints and were considering using heat-resistant silicone. We have obtained Fischer high temperature silicone, but when reading the instructions, it seems quite troublesome to use. On Swedish sites, we read that "pannkitt" should be used for sealing.
If someone could explain the difference between high temperature silicone and "pannkitt" for us, we would be very grateful.
The heat-resistant silicone we found works up to 1,500 degrees.
