I have a mixer that needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, it's impossible to loosen it without lifting the freestanding sink from the countertop. As far as I can see, it's glued to the wall and countertop with some kind of adhesive putty-like gray glue. Since the whole vanity has "sagged" a bit, it's already detached from the wall and has a few millimeters gap from it. This is also something I can fix if I first get it loose.

The problem I'm encountering is that it is stuck like a rock to the countertop. Any tips?

Rickard.
It is most likely regular silicone. And in that case, a razor blade/utility knife is my recommendation without having seen what it looks like. Try to get the knife underneath and cut the joint while gently lifting as you go.

It feels "stickier" than cured silicone and sticks more to the knife. But I'll try with a utility knife and get back to you. Thanks for the tip!

Better late than never; it was incompetence that held the sink in place :-)
When I managed to get my head far enough into the cabinet, I saw two hefty bolts that my utility knife didn't have a fair chance against. With them gone, it was no big challenge to remove the sink.
