I have applied for demolition and building permits at the same time. I have now been granted the permits and am considering how to demolish the garage (8x14m). I want to do it myself to save on costs. The garage is straightforward, and about 3.5m to the ridge. Inside, there's simple drywall on outer walls that are 45x95 (these are the load-bearing walls) with paneling outside. The roof consists of concrete tiles on battens, then some fiber membrane without any roof decking.

I'm considering cutting the outer wall all the way up about 1.7m along the house, which is 14m on both sides. Then, tightening strong straps against the roof truss and trying to pull with a car so it all collapses.

Are you going to save/reuse any of the materials? Are you going to send it for recycling or transport it yourself?

I would probably remove the roof tiles first, carefully or not, then the interior gypsum. You would not want to mix these with the rest anyway.

Insulation? Take it down and put it in bags, don't forget a mask and gloves.

Now there should mostly be wood and metal left, approximately. Cut and pull it down.

Renting a container for mixed waste is an option, might not be so expensive. In any case, it's a nicer demolition if the gypsum and insulation are gone, as you'll see protruding nails more easily.
