Hi.

Is there an experienced tiler here who can advise on the best way to cut already installed tiles?

In 2020, we laid tiles in the storage room that ended at an interior wall, and now we're thinking of enlarging the storage a bit. We've removed the interior wall and plan to continue the tiles into the rest of the room (with the same type). However, I want to cut the marked tiles so they align with the tile above. What's the best way to do that without the tile cracking or the edge becoming too chipped?

The tiles are Peronda FS Ofelia 10 mm.

Thanks in advance.

Put a circular saw blade in a plunge saw.

Don't have a plunge saw, only a circular saw. Does it work just as well?
Is the angle grinder completely out of the question?

Thanks for the input.

With a saw on a rail, it becomes straight. If you're a bit skilled, it might go decently with a miter box, but it's probably hard to get it really good? Maybe worth a try if you have the tools for it, you can always take 2mm extra in a new cut if needed.

A regular circular is difficult if you're using a rail.

There are routers to use as well, maybe rent something like that…

Cutting it in place will never look neat without scraping off the joint and knocking off the piece. If you can remove it whole, you can scrape off the adhesive and cut using a water machine, otherwise, you’ll need to cut a new piece.

However, it seems to be a brick bond pattern, so the best-looking option is to knock off all the cut tiles and then continue with the same bond pattern into the new part of the room; otherwise, you'll end up with a straight line across the floor...
