Cut exterior wall paneling most beautifully?
Hello! My son's father has craftsmen at his place working on various projects, including building a new roof over the basement entrance. The previous owner had done a poor job as there was no arinningsplåt (flashing) against the wall, causing water to run through the gaps between the cladding panels, directly down and into the basement. Now, this needed to be fixed, and I understand it might be difficult to fit a flashing behind the panel and also cut it, but I think one could expect a neater job from professionals. I assume they used a circular saw but don't know for sure. Maybe it was difficult to place a board to support against while sawing. Is a circular saw the only way, or could they have used a router, for example? Just curious. On the other wall, they seemed to have made it easier for themselves, and maybe it was the best way. They put up a sheet that covered the entire wall instead. What do you pros say about this, or non-pros with high standards? Maybe I'm just being too picky. Otherwise, it looks good.
The panel could have been trimmed higher up but otherwise, I think it looks ok.
A guide rail and plunge saw or circular saw might have made it straighter. Maybe a little paint is needed too? But depending on how visible it is, it might be okay. A bit higher up as previously mentioned so that water doesn't splash up onto the end grain so much, perhaps.
