We are going to install a larger model of cove molding in the bedroom where the ceiling on one side and the wall on the other are sloped. How do we make the outside corner work? We've tried sawing pieces and testing again and again but can't get it right. Can anyone help?
A little difficult to see in the picture what is a slanted ceiling and what is not, but the transition is in many cases impossible to make perfectly, since the angles make the cuts different lengths.
You need to whittle it down with a sharp knife. Completely impossible to saw it into shape.
You cut off the horizontal ones straight out to the adjoining wall and trim the adjoining crown moldings to fit.
There are surely tips on other methods that an experienced carpenter can share.
