In a few places in the house, I have a crack in the joint between two drywall sheets. I have used paper tape.
I am considering cutting away the joint and trying again. Could it work better next time, or is it pointless to avoid cracking if it's a place where it will crack regardless of the method?
There is råspont behind, but the studs are far apart, maybe up to 120 cm.

I don't know how big the difference is between paper tape and fiberglass tape. When I put up drywall in my bedroom, I used fiberglass tape. But I forgot to tape the first joint, so it does have a nice crack at certain times of the year. The rest have no cracks.

You can also try putting a piece of microlit over the joint without tearing off what is already there. Place a piece that is 20 cm wide so you get a good overlap and then feather the edges with compound. If you're good at plastering, it shouldn't show much when you're done. That's what I've done in some places where it cracked between drywall sheets, and it has worked well.D Derbyboy said:I have gotten a crack in the joint between two drywall sheets in several places in the house. There is tongue and groove paneling behind it, but there is a large gap between the studs, possibly up to 120 cm.

Yes, it has worked for me, I have done this in the ceiling in a few places where it cracked. I have used fabric glue when I glued up the microliten.D Derbyboy said:
Edit. You need to spread the filler quite a lot on the edges, about 10-15 cm, otherwise it will show that you have glued it on, but you are probably already aware of that.
