This weekend the vinyl click flooring will go into the basement!

The seller suggested we clean the concrete slab, lay construction plastic (my proposal), and then a cork underlayment.

Cork is warm to walk on, provides a pleasant sound environment, and is also cheap. Through its structure, it allows the slab to ventilate (if it weren't for the construction plastic).

Not a word about this can be found on the internet. I've never heard of cork underlayments.

What do you think about this?

Was such a product sold in the store?

Yes, and they recommend doing so. I'm not saying it's wrong, but we have talked to other stores and trawled through the internet and no one seems to have any experience with cork mats.

Sounds like a pretty good idea, I think?
