Hello!

We have been thinking about building a house for a long time, but we can't find the dream plot. However, we have found a plot with a house on it and are considering tearing it down and setting up a beautiful, old log house there. The previous house is not much to write home about.

Now I'm wondering, has anyone taken down a log house and set it up in a new location? Is it a tough and difficult project? And do you know of any companies that help with this?

/Greetings from someone dreaming of a house!

My parents' house was originally a relocated timber house (now 20 years older and 200m2 larger). According to my dad, it wasn't particularly difficult. I've also considered this idea for my future house, but it becomes quite an expensive and above all time-consuming frame that you don't see anything of since there is usually paneling on the outside of old timber houses. Maybe you have found a timber house where there's no paneling on the outside? Then I might think it's worth it if you can see that it's a timber house, that is.

http://www.blocket.se/vi/10390434.htm?ca=2_s There you have a beautiful house, looked straight and nice, and the roofline was good so the roof has probably held up and still holds..

You can take down the shell of a log house in a maximum of 2 days including windows and doors, if there are floors, shavings, and chimney it will take longer, also paneling etc etc etc.. Yes, you understand, good luck.
