An extension of my house is constructed in the following way. I wanted to ask you experts if it seems correctly done:
Counted from outside to inside:
1. Brick
2. Air gap
3. Asfaboard
4. Joists/insulation
5. Vapor barrier paper
6. Construction board
What I've heard is that the air gap is important. I've inspected it externally and it is present down to the foundation.

I am considering two things.
The wall itself seems to work well regarding ventilation, but I would like to replace the building board (tretex) with drywall. This is to facilitate upcoming wallpapering. Could this cause problems, i.e., will the wall become too airtight?
I thought that the vapor barrier should be placed directly inside the asphalt board, but maybe it is correct as it is now according to the above?

The usual situation in a house is that the air inside contains more moisture than the air outside, so it's the humid indoor air you want to prevent from cooling down and condensing inside the wall where it can cause mold damage. That's why the vapor barrier is on the inside of the insulation. Therefore, you shouldn't need to worry about making the wall too tight if you put up a plasterboard on the inside.
