Didn't get much response on the construction part in my project thread, so I'll try here where maybe the expertise is:)

This is how the extension should look:

I've put together something that should resemble the construction:

This is what I thought, from bottom to top:

Sill: 195x45
Wall studs: 195x45
Interior wall studs: 120x45
Loft joists 195x45 cc40
90x90 post for the corner window
Kerto beam 360x45 for the large window section
Kerto beam 260x45 for the low window
At the load points, I thought of using double 195x45 on each side.
Recessed load-bearing beam 195x45
Wall plate 195x45
Kerto beam 400x45 as roof beams

Outside: wind barrier, 45x45 nail battens, and panel.
Inside: 45x45, 45 insulation, vapor barrier, OSB, and gypsum

My considerations (more will likely pop up along the way):

1. The recessed load-bearing beam (is that what it's called?) I have seen them placed both inside and outside the insulation, what is the standard? I think they are placed as far inside as possible to allow for maximum insulation as early in the construction as possible. Am I thinking wrong?

2. Kerto beam was new to me before I started researching a bit about laminated timber, etc. Are there any advantages or disadvantages compared to laminated timber? I only see advantages, at least for my build, they do add more height but are quite thin (45) allowing for more insulation space in the wall.

3. I'm also wondering about how the new roof section is usually connected to the existing roof structure. From what I've heard, you shouldn't attach buildings to each other because they move differently. But what alternatives are there exactly with this kind of construction?

As mentioned, more questions are likely to pop up! So please bear with me :)

Try PMing and waking up some of the experts so they can come to your rescue. :D
The ones that come to mind in a hurry are "Enk Projektet" and "estwing" but there are of course many more. :)
