My partner and I have submitted a building permit application. We plan to build a carport for our motorhome and trailer. The carport will also house a simple, uninsulated storage room. The carport will be 60 sqm. There will be no electricity or water drawn to it. Now we've been informed that the city planning office wants a construction plan. Who can help us with one? I've asked around a bit but haven't found the "right" one. The guy who made the drawing and site plan is happy to help us, but he emphasizes that he doesn't want to be responsible for construction; we need to specify how we will build and with what materials, and then he'll draft a plan.

Where do you buy the roof trusses? Because they usually include documentation for that. The exterior wall usually doesn't need to have its load-bearing capacity demonstrated.

We haven't decided yet, planning to have the building permit ready first and then start purchasing materials.

Then you tell them to give you the building permit. They cannot demand construction drawings before you have received the building permit as it does not affect whether you get permission or not. However, you will not get a start notice.

That sounds reasonable! It felt like a Catch-22. Thanks for the answer, I'll call them tomorrow!
