Connection/sealing of vapor barrier to plastered chimney
We have a chimney that goes through the vapor barrier in the attic floor. How is the vapor barrier sealed against a plastered chimney?
Age-resistant tape does not adhere to the rough, slightly sandy surface.
Are there any suitable sealing compounds that can be used?

I have tried gluing polyethylene plastic with both latex sealant and silicone. Both have very poor adhesion to the plastic... Any more suggestions??
If the plastic is not cut exactly, and there is an extra dm, fold it up against the wall and wrap any tape around it, then it doesn't matter if the tape sticks to the plastic, after one round it will stick to itself. Otherwise, some solution with foam sealant is needed, it is also available as fire-rated...
Found this product: Mataki Teno Tatmassa.

According to Mataki's description, it should have good adhesion. Will try to find a retailer for it.
