Connection conservatory to concrete slab
I have a question regarding a slab on ground with L-profiles that have 100mm of foam insulation in an L shape with a bevel at the top.
The sunroom supplier indicates that the U-profiles holding the sliding doors and windows should be placed slightly out over the edge of the concrete slab - but then the mounting screw will go almost entirely into the foam insulation. And last time I checked, it doesn't work very well to screw into foam insulation.
Does anyone have a good construction solution for this?
One option is to place the profile further in so the screws get a grip in the concrete. Or, as someone suggested, cut away the insulation at the top of the L-profile, but then that creates a thermal bridge.
Attached is a beautiful piece of art, where the green block represents the placement of the U-profile on top of the L-element, along with the screw that will secure the U-profile.

hey!
you should cut off the edge where you are going to pull the screws/bolts... so you can cast the concrete closer to the edge of the L-elements. there's a great description on YT which I can't remember the name of.

I've seen that solution, but it's not entirely correct. You don’t want to cut away insulation that you've initially placed there. It also creates a thermal bridge. I will have sliding door sections along the entire side, so then you have to remove the insulation all the way.N No1_CousCous said:
