Bought a house built in 1965, today we removed the carpet and Masonite boards.
The tongue and groove boards are relatively even, my question now is...
can you lay click flooring directly on the tongue and groove boards?
Of course, we also have the soft underlayment that is used with click flooring.

  • Old wooden floorboards revealed after removing the carpet and masonite in a 1965 house renovation. Considering installing click flooring on it.
I have a PERGO that I installed in '93, no problems around 30m2.

Yes, I have done that in nearly every room in this house. What you need to keep in mind is that you must lay it across the floorboards, otherwise it will crack apart (I made that mistake in the kitchen...)

Then, as you mentioned, you should also have step-dampening foam, but you already knew that.

Thanks for the response! However, this floor isn't high-class but hoping for the same answer anyway?
Ikea floor, 7 mm

That's what I have used.
