Hi, I have a question out of pure curiosity. How much clearance from the ground does a house built on a post foundation need to ventilate any moisture that arises?

I'm thinking that the panel usually has an air gap of a few cm. Floors need more since the ground retains moisture, I suppose, but there must also be a height/clearance breakpoint where you know it becomes relatively moisture-proof. As mentioned, this is just a question out of curiosity, so I might be thinking completely wrong.

But if anyone has the answer, feel free to share.

A clean plinth foundation with holes all the way through, 10 cm is enough, it will have quite a good draft underneath and no moisture will remain. What can happen is that if a lot of snow comes, it gets sealed, but it doesn't matter much as winter air is dry.
