Considering installing underfloor heating. I have a concrete slab that is 100 mm thick with a basement underneath. On top of the concrete are 100 mm high joists, with a pine floor on top. The insulation between the joists consists of wool. I'm considering doing it like this.
Remove the pine floor, take away the joists and wool. Place insulation boards on top of the concrete to reach the right height. Lay reinforcing mesh, attach the underfloor heating pipe to the mesh, and cast a 30-50 concrete slab. Lay tiles on top of the concrete. I have a total of 65 m2.
What I'm wondering. What can you cast with?
: Do you have to use self-leveling compound with fiber?
: Mix cement and sand yourself?
: Buy fine concrete and go with that option?
: Some other option?
Thinking about the pipes not cracking.
Grateful for answers.
