Hello!
We are having problems with rainwater leaking in through the balcony and into the hallway below. I've been advised to lay roofing felt on the balcony floor and up a bit on the wall under the outer façade.
When we went to the building supply store, there were several different types of felt, so which one should I choose?

This particular part is an old house with horizontal timber, the balcony is an addition from the 40s and has a concrete floor.F falkn said:
Right now, this older part of the house has fiber cement boards that I will take down, and since I got the idea of tar paper on the balcony floor and up the wall, I thought I would start with this part..
The answer to your other question is yes, decking or similar will fit over the tar paper.
I would suggest a welded felt, e.g. https://eurotema.se/produkter/temaflex-sbs5500/
Aim for a 30 cm upturn for good protection for a long time.
