Choice of beam
Thank you so much!
Should a UPE-beam lie like a U or stand like a C?
Looking here, they are depicted lying down, but it feels a bit strange.....

Do you think it's possible to glue aluminum profiles on the top edge of an IPE?
I don't want the roof to lift, and with IPE, it's difficult to screw or rivet....

I would not use either HEA, IPE, or UPE. They are all less suitable in this context. It also wouldn't look good, more like a steel exhibition. I would use square tubes, VKR.
I thought a steel exhibition might be a bit cool but on second thought you're absolutely right! ....as usual.
What dimension should I choose that corresponds to:
bärlina (HEA 120)
taktegel (IPE 100)
I guess it becomes a weight/price question vs the visual.
Best regards

HEA 120: VKR 150x100x5. IPE 100: VKR 100x50x5. When it comes to VKR, there is a large number of combinations if you also consider the wall thickness in the choice. It is advisable to choose the best stiffness per kilo. VKR 150x100x5, for example, weighs less than 140x80x6.3

No, but the combination 120x120x8 and 80x80x7.1.

It's your build. You can do whatever you want. Sleep on it, it usually helps!
