Hello everyone,

I have recently moved into an atrium house with a large garden (Malmö) and we are very satisfied so far. More or less all the windows in our house are bad, and we have ordered new ones. In conjunction with the window replacement, I was thinking of changing the facade cladding facing the garden. Currently, the facade cladding there is made of eternit. It is damaged in some places, and then patched with wood in some areas, for example, when changing patio doors to more modern ones. I spoke with our window salesperson about the renovation of the facade, and he mentioned that his installers do not have an eternit license, i.e., they are not allowed to touch eternit. Otherwise, they fix everything around the windows so that the connection becomes neat and renovate the parts around the windows that are needed. Currently, the window frames and window sills are in terrible condition.

I have now been thinking about how to proceed for a while, and some questions have come up that I would like to consult with you about.

Which type of wood should I use for the facade cladding?
Should I change the facade cladding before the window replacement?
Which color should I use to paint the facade cladding?

Thanks in advance from
Micke in DeepValley
