Hello,

Regarding HH Celcon's products: I talked to our former construction contractor who built our Ytong house in 2003 and is now building with HH's products due to Ytong's "issues". His opinion is that Ytong's elements are better as they are of slightly higher quality (the hardness of the material), which means that when you set the elements, they don't crack as easily at the bottom as HH's do. But as he said - "There is patching material" :-)
Do you have any cool pictures of your construction that you can share on byggahus.se?? It would be fun to see.

Not everyone has a private secretary ;)

Very stylish - actually saw this on a thread called websites.... It didn't become stone walls indoors?

What was the cost of the part related to Ytong solid walls? Would appreciate a price indication for material/installation/plaster.

I think Dorocell's solution seems ingenious but it doesn't have the same fire properties as Celcon/Ytong.

Hello again.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you what we paid for just the Ytong. We bought a ready-made kit from Örementhus, and we did not get a breakdown of the cost for exterior walls, etc. What I CAN tell you is that the elements were put in place over about 2 days with a team of 3 builders + a crane truck driver with an associated truck. We are talking about just under 80 man-hours of work with the exterior walls. The cost for this should be around 30-35,000 SEK. The plastering is around 30,000 SEK excluding labor.

There is another interesting building system called Palikka. Information can be found here. http://www.palikka.fi/

The architect Paul Ross uses this in many of his extreme constructions.

I respect that, but can you reveal what the house cost in general then? I'm looking for price indications of a similar house calculated on price/sqm. You should have gotten some specifics in the production budget. Grateful for anything you wish to share. I'm in discussions with an architect and the house will be about 270 sqm on 1 floor + garage, so there's quite a bit of money to be spent. Hence all the thoughts on this forum. You have built in Skåne where it seems to be more the rule than the exception with nice stone houses. Örementhus, however, does not seem to reach as far north as Östergötland, and I wish to run it on my own.

A disadvantage of the Dorocell and Palikka systems is that you no longer get a diffusion-open wall, which is sometimes emphasized as an advantage with stone houses.

Hasse, you are right. It's a major disadvantage. I spoke with an expert in the field. He strongly recommended Celcon since there's a lot of rework needed on the inner walls of Dorocell. With Celcon, you just plaster, but with Dorocell, you also have to put up tongue and groove or gypsum, so it might end up costing more than it's worth in the end. I've now decided on Celcon wall elements to avoid all the heavy lifting. Apparently, you can get an entire house with a roof on within a week using a crane, so it seems like the best solution. Then it will be pure pleasure to run electricity, hang pictures, and put up shelves in the soft material. Dorocell is rock hard inside the plastic.
Here is a good house link that shows in detail how it works.....hem.bredband.net/marhof

Nice house!

Hello all Y-tong lovers. Despite the bankruptcy in January, they continue to deliver. They will probably continue to do so in the future, and that's good so that there is some price pressure between Celcon and Y-tong. All according to informed sources.

Is a reconstruction complete or is the bankruptcy estate continuing to work? Are they trustworthy? Are they only delivering already received orders or are they accepting new ones as well?

Can't imagine the reconstruction is finished. It usually takes time. They have told our architect that they are working as usual, but I would be very vigilant; you don't want to tie up a construction on items that aren't coming. Advance payment is out of the question in any case.
