Hello. I have built a new holiday home where the underlay consists of a so-called Tyvek membrane instead of tongue-and-groove boards. The membrane makes an annoying noise when the wind blows (normal wind). I wonder if anyone else has the same problem as I do?? And what to do? I had not been informed of what a Tyvek membrane was. The house is bought from a well-known house supplier. Grateful for advice.
ps. sleeping poorly ds.:confused

In my ears ;-) it sounds like the house hasn't been made completely windproof.
It absolutely shouldn't be possible for the wind to blow into the roof so that the ceiling moves.
Tyvek fabric they've put up is a breathable material and thus perfect to have in a holiday home where no vapor barrier (plastic) is used.
I absolutely think you should complain to the person who built the house.

The underlay, he said, and not the interior ceiling.

Sorry!
I read too quickly and poorly!

Those who set up the Tyvek have done it correctly, but they probably missed attaching it properly. You can, if it's possible to access, place a strip on the Tyvek to prevent it from flapping in the draft.
